gsr with blox type a cams where should my vtec be
i got a usdm b18c1 stock internals besides it has blox stage 1 cams and just regular bolt ons. right now im running a stock p72 and vtec kicks in at 4500 rpms which seems wayyy too low, when vtec kicks in it seems like theres a dip in power and doesnt really start pulling hard till 6000 rpm. where should vtec be set with these cams 5400?

the only way to determine that is to get it dyno tuned. my stock usdm gsr's vtec was at 5200rpms which is stock. with that c/r i'm sure it should stay at 5200. i'm a noob on here but been doing this for a while and seen many tunes done at my friends speed shop as well as my car

Stock P72 ECU VTEC is 4400 RPM. The IAB opens at ~5750 RPM.
You could feel VTEC at 5200 if you oil level is low.
As for the OP, tuning will get you the best location for VTEC. I believe there is a procedure a tuner goes through to set VTEC by setting it intentional higher and lower to find the optimum VTEC point..

Re: gsr with blox type a cams where should my vtec be
set it where the 2 curves (small/big lobe) cross eachother for max power
set it a few hunderd rpms higher if you love the rush
s2s1 on my mates bolton GSR i tuned likes vtec at 4500rpm, very strange to feel vtec kick in that early but it picked up between 10-25 whp in the 4500-5800 region because of it.
offcourse when vtec kicks in at 5800 you get a nice push, but also initiates wheelspin in first and in second with rain. also optimum vtec helps retain traction troughout the corner (when you hit vtec mid-corner)
if you feel a kick when vtec engages, lower it untill you find the spot where you can only hear it kick in but it feels seamless
