does being in vtec burn oil?
I have always been under the impression that being in vtec burns oil. I was asked by a co-worker about this and he asked me why it actually burns oil and I had no real defense to my statement. I know you need oil pressure to activate vtec but.. why does it get burnt in the process?

how exactly does being in vtec burn oil?
i'm not repeating your question, i'm asking you how it happens. i can't for the life of me figure out how a larger cam profile suddenly causes oil to get sucked into the cylinder.

VTEC doesnt burn oil, the increased crankcase pressures can cause the oil consumption,.

yes it does.
Did you ever see how a nascar driver has a tiny water tube coming into the helmet so he can get a drink of water while racing?
I hooked up something like that to a 5 qt oil jug in my back seat so when im flying around hitting my VTAK trying to impress the ladies, my motor doesnt get thirsty . .

i think its either high or low silicon pistons, cant remember which one, and something with expansion, or along the lines cause the oil to burn.
