Re: DD/Drag B20V build
Like I said, 10's with an NA B series are just a dream lol. I have plans on moving to bigger motor and older chassis in the future. If I could get this car in 11's I would be stoked. My main goal for this build from day 1 was 12.50...I think I should be able to get that pretty easily now. If that's to easy...I'll shoot for a 12 flat

^^^thats the goal. If/when I find a roller chassis I want I may sell this car to put money towards it. It wont be anytime soon, but I don't want 15k invested in a car I will only be able to sell for 6-7k. Right now I can just about break even.

Re: DD/Drag B20V build
I'd like to find a small body car if possible, but they are hard to find and usually more expensive.
Chevy II
Vega
70-72 split bumper camaro
66 or 70-72 chevelle
Mid-late 70's malibu has been a thought too
I have found some decent vegas for good deals...I just am not too sure about the short wheel base. That are a handful on the big end.
My dads buddy offered me his chevy luv w/ a 488 olds that runs 9.75-10 to race for him (he can't get a 9 sec license due to medical issues) but I hate racing someones build, especially if it breaks. I really wanna drive his buddies blown alcohol hemi 56 chevy pro mod that runs 6.50's haha

Re: DD/Drag B20V build
LOL to run what time? 10's? I don;t think I will ever be into that w/ a NA B...like I said...all a dream haha.
I think I could get a 12 flat out of this setup with some more work, and getting more and more seat time. Nothing major. Again, 12.5 has been my goal since I got the car and started the build so anything faster than that I see as a bonus.
The last time the car was out it was running 12.8's @ 105-106 consistently w/ 1.7 60's. At that time the car was running rich and not ato its full potential. If I had to put a number on it I'd say it was running about 85% with AFRs in the high 10's and low 11's

Re: DD/Drag B20V build
There have been a few guys running very low 11's and even high 10's with your power. But like he said, the car has to be 17xx pounds with driver, aka cut to the gills!

I'll continue to say it, 12.50 is my overall goal. IF I can go faster great. Crack 11's...ecstatic. I don't want to hack the car as it is still a comfortable reliable street car should I want to sell it.

Re: DD/Drag B20V build
It's on the list.... whether or not I get there or not is a different story. In a perfect world I would build a B series to try and run 10's...but it will take more than head work to do that. I'll have to change the bottom half, cams and other things. Maybe a 100 shot would be fun and cheaper

So at this point, the car is a Test N Tune runner and whatever other "honda days" we have on very rare occasion. That is one of the main reasons I want to get into a domestic, there are weekly races for them.

Re: DD/Drag B20V build
To port, or not to port. That is my current dilemma.
I can get a hand port job done by a local shop my buddy works for at a VERY deep discount (the guy will do it off the clock) which he will put up against a "generic" CNC port any day of the week. The guy builds circle track (4-8 cylinder) and domestic drag motors and has been voted "Best in WA-port work" time and time again. My buddy currently is running his port job on his 1100+whp k24 turbo and it looks great. He used to do work for speedfactory I was told before they were sponsored.
I may throw a set of ferrea flat faced valves in a bump the compression a touch for good measure, just trying to see if I can justify the money/work it will take. I'm hoping to break the 250whp mark on the dyno dynamics.
The setup would remain the same, just have a hand ported head and the compression would jump .3 points (should put me right around 13:1) If I can find a deal on pro 3's I might even consider throwing the intake cam in and running the 2/3 combo.

If at a later point you would be able to get a cnc port job like 4piston on your head still if you want more and you're confident the guy won't make your head worse and the price is good I say go for it.

Re: DD/Drag B20V build
If I ever want to do a 4P head or something of that nature I'll probably just buy one directly from them, I doubt I'll ever get to that point with this build though lol. My goal is to build a back half pro street domestic as soon as I get the funds and resources.

Re: DD/Drag B20V build
Google image "pro street chevelle" and you'll get the idea
Johnsons Machine in Lacey. I have heard MANY different stories about the guy who does their port work. Mainly he bounced around a couple shops and landed at Johnson's. I was told he did port work at DG awhile ago but didn't like working for Dale, then went to heads up, and now Johnson's. Rich @ Rich tuned ran his head on his SFWD build years back and made good power, a couple other local guys I know have vouched for him as well. I don;t know if the speedfactory claims are true or not, but they did used to run all their work through DG. I personally won't do business with DG, bad experience and he screwed my old man over.

It's in my list of things to do, just need to find a donor chassis to work with. If I find the right one I'll sell the honda to give the project a kick start
