Default d16y8 rebuild questions

My buddy spun a bearing in his y8, 40 miles later scarring the crank beyond repair.. So long story short we're going to rebuild the bottom end! Now here's the issue, he wants to run 75.5mm Pistons rated @ 12.7:1 CR.. I do not think this is a good idea without also getting Eagle Rods and rebuilding the head with Supertech Valves/Springs and Titanium Retainers.. Also with that high Compression Ratio will he need larger Injectors and Throttle Body? He wants to keep the cost down but I'm not sure his stock y8 head can handle that compression ratio..

Just trying to gather more information before he commits to buying these parts, to me 12.7:1 or even 12.5:1 seems way too high for a y8.. He wants it to "have more *****" but I'm not sure this is the way to go.. Any suggestions?
