Default Build High Milage b16 or buy new JDM b16 and build?

I'm trying to figure out if I should keep my b16 with 140,000 miles and build that or buy a JDM 1st gen or 2nd gen and have that in my garage and slowly build it?

If you can afford the downtime of a motorless car, I'd build the 140k mile motor. With a rebuild, it will be good as new. If you can't afford the downtime, then yes, buy another motor and build that one.

140K is not really "high mileage" for a honda you will save money in the long run if you get all your parts together and get it all done at once so you dont have much down time. 140k is a perfect candidate for a build. save your money and build that.

x2

if you don't want the downtime you can always find a d series to throw in there for cheap. That way you can still have your car if its your dd. Then you can build the b16.

by swap you mean you have to change your block? cause thats pretty much it lol... and i say use the motor you already have. Those japanese have a lot of miles on them too, i have seen some so dirty on the inside you would think they never had the oil changed and went 180+k miles and ive seen some so clean you can eat off of them. its a gamble, just keep waht you have.

rebuild the 140 motor. I'm rebuilding mine and should come out to about $700 for everything. Down time of about 2weeks once I ship the head out to get some extra work.
