Default Buddy club Spec 3+ cams ?s

I had a couple of questions about these cams. I found a guy claiming to sell a set that was only used for a week. They look brand new and I was wondering if there was anyway to tell whether or not the cams are actually real or not (he's selling them very cheap...275 so I'm kind of iffy on whether or not they are real).

Also, how much less power would these yield than say blox stage 2s. Just wondering because I was told those are some of the best cams for the money, but less than 300 has me considering the spec 3+.

here are my plans for the entire motor: https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1515034

no I found them in the local paper's classified auto parts section. Which may sound stupid but I've gotten some great deals from there for things like interior pieces and tires.

So are their any identifying marks on the cams? They look good, I just have no way to tell if they are real or not.

I heard that there is a "T" engraved on one of the sides of each cam is this true??

Also how would these compare to the blox stage 2s?

The BC3+ is a very nice mid-range cam, and probably the cam that I will go with. Over-all power compared to the Blox Stage-2 will be pretty close. I think the Blox will have a higher peak, but the BC3+ will beat them on usable power throughout the entire rev-range.

i switched from the skunk2stage1 to buddy club spec 3+ on a gsr with the usual i/h/e...

the moment i fired the car up, the idle was rough and funny. it would stay at just about 1000rpm, but once i revved it the motor sounded really throaty.

i know it is their entry level cam, but i have heard of a few people dropping the cam in, and taking 5-15% fuel away with their VAFC right on the spot. unfortunately i didn't have my VAFC installed and was planning on daily driving it a bit before i actually tuned it with crome...

needless to say, i ended up putting the stock gsr cams in so i could drive it, and i'm actually selling the BC3's now...

im quite sure my motor is running richer that others out there, i average 22mpg, on precise measurements. add in the fact that the duration on these cams are pretty big, it didn't work for my setup.

Wouldn't tuning make them idle like stock? Just wondering because I've heard of some stage 2 cams having near stock idle AFTER tuning of course.

I know the blox 2s will dominate on topend but what about the low/mid range?

BC3+'s have large intake primaries (non-vtec lobs). This significantly lower idle vacuum thus fueling is very rich on primary lobes. I pulled about 20-25% fuel for good idle and taper that to vtec crossover. Trashed the VAFC, and I am now Neptuned. Love these cams, but I have not experience with others in this car and motor.

I had blox b's in my itr motor and dynoed at 195/126. I lost 10 whp after 8000 rpm when I dropped in the BC3+ cams. But my midrange gained 15-25 whp over the Blox b's . I dynoed 185/127 with the BC3+ cams. The car was a whole lot quicker with the bc3+'s.

I'll post the dyno's chart when I get home. You won't be disappointed with the 3+'s.

i love my BC3+ and they hav not be tuned in yet on my b18c6 engine.

but the only thing i can compare it to is the stock cams so maybe you should get info from the guys who have tried more different cams

awsome that'd be most appreciated.

I'm assuming you meant c5. I care a little bit about other cams, but I mainly want to hear/see result with this cam compared w/stock and/or other performance cams.

I've never heard of the c6 or c3 engine for that matter. I take it they are both in europe or something...I know most of the honda engine codes that are US and JDM. either way nice damn #s!

I vouvh for this guy he knows his **** and his car WAS quick(sold it......I bet ur missing now that its about to get warm).

From what I've seen in the dyno's for these cams I would reccomend the buddy clubs. The blox cams like larger motors(2.0+), on the smaller motors(1.6 & 1.8) they only create peak #'s but less drivable powerband for the street. Buddy club cams make power in the lowend and midrange because they are a road racing company and besides that is where you spend most of your time on the street.

any more buddy club users?

i have a set, and am still reluctant to put them in because of that funky and rough idle

check my sig. As far as the idle......after the cams were put in, the motor was started with a p28 w/ a kenji basemap on it. I asked him for whatever basemap he felt was a good fit for the bc3+. And it idled beautifully, just like stock. I haven't really heard much about any idling issues.

for Buddy Club Spec3+ I love them

Mine idles just like stock. Get a good tuner and you will have no problems.
