Re: b20 vtec... advise?
yes im replacing the vlaves for peace of mind being as that i have absolutly no idea how many miles are on this head. the skunk 2's were alot cheaper than they would be if i were to buy them from skunk2. im going to look around for the a header. as for rod bolts i already have the arp's. yet another craigslist find where they were blib for 20 bucks ha. i tried lookin up the rs machiene pistions but idk if i was doing it right because i couldnt find ****. and i dont know the final demensions yet because i havent even sent the block out yet, eagle rods are already on there way.

If you are going to run a stock B20 block, use B16 or gsr cams.
What is your idea of a head being "completely rebuilt?"
No offense man, but I get the vibe that you're like 16 and working on a gas pumper budget. Horsepower = patience and money. If you are lacking either one, you are wasting our time and yours. I believe in building it right the first time, I do not like half *** engine components or methods. "Parts that almost fit, almost work."

Re: b20 vtec... advise?
im 22 it just i never tryed building a car. just bought fast ones. now i want to build them. well i bought the motor 3 weeks ago put it in my car it ran fine. when i took it to by buddys shop to change the head gasket. well who ever put the head on last used a b20 head gasket and didnt tighten the head down. when my buddy took the head off it was a lil worped. so the had it resurfaced, they diped it in acid. and changed all the seals and gaskets. well i dont want it half *** job. the only cheap part i have is the fuel regulator but i just got it becuase i was running rich and couldnt figure out why.

Why ann I sing eagle rods and sep bolts you ask? Because I can. The stock rods were done for. I got the block with very few bolts so I replaced with arp. This is my first build. Yeah I may be 20 but I have had this block and most parts for over 6 months. Been doing my research and asking questions to further my knowelage.

Rod bearings spun and decinagrated. And one is bent. Block is still fine... motor was ran hard before I got it. Block just got checked out and its all good.

I'm against adding unnecessary weight to the rotating assembly yes. You do not need aftermarket rods - at all. The only thing you are accomplishing is making the assembly heavier, thats it. And your Eagle rods already come with ARP rod bolts, thats why I asked why you bought both. But build how you want man - it's your money, your motor.
