it could be nice to see this setup test with a 68 mm+ TB, an open header

how is the back pressure? are you logging the back pressure?

Damn, great numbers! I like the fact that you kept the AC and PS and made great power, everyone dogs me when they see it on my b20 setup. Now I can direct those who say it robs alot of hp to this forum.

Pretty sure the open hood is just as good as driving down the road at 50 mph. We cannot reproduce the air over the car on the dyno.

Yes we have played with it. It was 2.5" longer than the one in the picture. It was built for road racing.

Alot of things could be better if $ wasn't a factor.

Here is the graph on a hot run revving it a bit more.

THX, lol
Now its clear, it does not really worth to rev more since it is not flat or climbing. I would put the limiter ~9250.

He have had good luck in the past trying the smaller exhaust cam. Customer was willing to try anything else. Exhaust cam is big on a Pro 3....

what is amazing is TQ starting to fall @8.5K (despite the relatively small header, IM and not too huge cams)... it is generally 1K lower on 89mm stroke Bs

The Header is smaller but it is half the length as other customs.

May i ask why you think the pro3 exhaust cam is smaller.. I notice through alot of research i've been doing on rockets stuff, that the m24xx's and the m25x's have tended to have a smaller exhaust cam so you and him were on to something.

But i wanted to hear your logic behind it..

I believe he used the pro2 exhaust cam and stated it was smaller than the pro3.

I remember speaking with DonF when I was building my GSR and he steered me away from the rocket cams due to the exhaust cams being larger than optimal. His cams were mostly symmetrical intake and exhaust on lift and durration where almost any other cams I've seen on along with OEM are larger on the intake side. I assume he designed his cams thievery for simplicity and cost effectiveness.

Actually, I believe Rocket stated that was a design philosophy followed by Ed Iskenderian of Isky Racing cams. IIRC, he believed it improved top-end power. With the relatively low volumes he dealt with, I don't think the strategy would actually save any money.
