Any TSX flaws or bugs?

Any TSX flaws or bugs?
I'm planning a car and I'm leaning towards the TSX. For those of you who've owned one or work on them, do they have any flaws or bugs? Any tranny, steering, suspension, electronic, etc. problems whatsoever? Thanks in advance for all your help.

theres been some rattle problems and what seems to be a common clutch pedal click/creak noise. I had the clutch one myself but some simple lube by the dealership and it went away.

They have a transmission case thickness problem.. The center console aluminum strips damage easily. The left turn signal goes crazy when u plug in a car charger for a cell phone to the power socket in the center console. Also on a side note what was Honda thinking by intergrating the pass. side front airbag into the dash so that the whole dash has to be replaced when the aibag goes off? High cost to replace after accident=high insurance rates.

haven't heard of ANY of those either. There was a brief hold on auto trannies because the wrong cases had been put on. Simple change of the case and there wasn't a problem. No damage to my dash trim and A LOT of cars ahve the pass. airbag integrated.

Tony4311 is right, A LOT of new cars have the pass. bag in the dash.
I think That I would not worry about the dash being replaced when my life is saved due to the airbag. If you don't want to pay for dash either don't crash, or buy a car with a pad over the airbag that warps and discolors over time and it also Looks like crap.
Just my 2 cents

Same I work as a mech at a Acura Dealer also and The TL has mostly creeks and rattles but the TSX as I've seen is pretty much all good. Plus I love the way they drive

I have a TSX auto pretty satified with it - has only 1200 miles on it so far. It is rated highly on safety at the site above. Only complaint black interior shows dust easily - have to keep up with dusting. Tan interior has old folk wood trim.

I just purchased my 2004 TSX 2 weeks ago.
Since you're an Acura mechanic, you're the best one to ask -
The oil change intervals (for severe driving conditions) are set for every 5K miles and 10K miles for filter change.
For better engine life and to deter problems in the future, do you think the filter should be changed every time the oil is changed? What about regular oil vs synthetic oil vs snthetic blends - which is better?
Are there any other factory recommended services you think should be done at an earlier time than what is stipulated in the manual?

I would recommend Full Synthetic Mobil 1 every 5K miles and change the Filter ( its only $5-$7 ) ----- Do this regularly at 5K and you should have NO problems.
I did this with my 2000 Si and drove the hell out of that car ( easly hit 8000 rpms 20 times a day ) and after 45K miles I opened the valve cover to look it over and make sure every thing was ok, and it looked New --- No wear what so ever

Re: Any TSX flaws or bugs? (mp7235)
Yeah the oil filter is a bitch to get at. During the first oil change, I had to remove the passenger side wheel in order to get a better angle on it. I tried to from underneath, but after about 45 mins. I chose the other route. Looks like it got over torqued or maybe I need to start working out. Although, one things for sure, that intermediate shaft is in the fawking way! Any of you guys got a better way of doing this?

Re: Any TSX flaws or bugs? (uncivical)
Yes
Snap-On, Matco, Mac, Cornwell all have a oil filter gripper that has a Solid base that is flat and two or three arms that have springs that hold it tight against the filter and they only twist off the filter. They all cost around $20-$40. Or you can go to honda or acura and buy a filter wrench that fits the filters for $20-$30.
As for the oil filter being over tightened, You are wrong. As most people know but Some don't do it and it can harm your car. You replace the filter with a new one and ONLY tighten it by hand. DON'T EVER USE A TOOL. When the filter gets hot after a couple of mins. it expands and causes a good seal if its too tight it can blow out or just not seal at all and you can't get it off with out a Lot of work. Plus stripping the male side of the filter fitting is bad. It may also cause the rubber seal to stick to the block and you may double seal the filter and then the engine goes BOOM.
