99 acura tl
theres a acura tl here that is for sale fora really good price but the tranny will need to be replaced (seller says 900 for the tranny??) is there a manual tranny alternative for it? or would i have to get a auto since ive heard alot about the first few years of the tl tranny were crappy.. i dont know much bout the TLs....

TL transmission are crappy and here is the order of crappiness
4spd auto ->bottom of the **** pile
5spd auto-> near bottom of the **** pile
both have an EXTREMELY HIGH failure rate and I WOULD NOT PUT A USED ONE IN THERE. To rebuild the 4spd auto will cost you about $3200 since they will usually have to replace some hard parts in addition to new clutch packs and master rebuild kit
this is the same trans used in the 98-02 accords.......
