Rattle anyone? On EP3

Rattle anyone? On EP3
Hi,
Every since I bought the car, I've this annoying rattle that *seem* to be coming from the driver left side vent. I say *seem* because I don't think it is actually there. I've brought it to the dealership and have them look at it a few times. But nothing is fixed coz' most of the time, I get the excuse "we can't hear it clearly, bring it back again". After a few times of that, I kinda gave up.
I've taken the panels below the dash on the driver side and I don't see any cables/wires that could be making the sound. I've driven around w/o the panels and the sound is still there. I took off the storage compartment (left driver side knee) and drove around and the sound is still there. I took the cluster cover off and drove around. Same thing. I've taken the cluster off and look inside. I jiggled the a/c vents around but they are pretty snug. Doesn't seem like it could be making the rattling sound. I've checked the cup holder area and it is not it either.
I've also taken the tweeter cover off (driver side), the side of the dash cover, driver side kick panel (?? the one left of the dead pedal) and drove around. Sound is still there. I've also taken the door cover off but it doesn't look like anything in there that could be the cause. I've not driven around w/ the door cover off though. I couldn't get 2 other connectors to come off (the lock mechanism and power window or power lock).
Someone said it is the seals around the a/c ducts. I was told the seals contract during cold weather etc. and it makes a rubbing sound. The sound, is somewhere bet. a rattle and a ticking sound. It sounds like a plastic push pin type of connector that is loose and buzzing. Maybe a rattle/tick/buzz sound??
Any ideas? Thanks.

I had a MDX in today (apples to oranges with a comparison i know) that had a similar rattle. Come to find out it was a bracket under the hood buzzing aginst the strut tower. Sounded like it was coming from the left vent area too. Check under the hood for cables, brackets pipes etc that may be causing it. Just food for thought......

There is a rattle in the sunroof area when the slider part is open. When I mean slider part, the sunroof can be open or closed, but if the sunblocker slider is open, it rattles. Close it and it goes away.
I keep on hearing issues where people have rattles around the vent area and behind the dash. Im glad I havent experienced that yet.

Please post if you find any TSB. I would appreciate it greatly.
Since it is summer now, the rattle is not present anymore. Only on a rare occasion I can hear it.
But before you posted, I did look under the hood. There was a loose snap on fastener that was loose (for holding the insulation in place). But that didn't fix the rattle last time.
Tweeter housing wasn't loose either.
So, it is definitely a mystery to me. And I'm sure I'm going to hear it again in the colder months ahead.

Hamproof, I've had a creaky noise in my chassis, but not any real rattles, knock on wood.
Sometimes the sunroof squeeks when the visor is open, but wiping the rubber down with some silicone grease will stop that until it gets dirty again (about a month or two)
BTW, Im now also installing a custom garage door button in my wife's EK, too.

blastech - I'm glad my little DIY came in useful for you. I love the garage opener button. For some reason it is even more responsive (I can open the garage door further away now) than when it was hanging on the visor.

Yeah, mine too, because the switch on my remote was almost dead.
I figured out that if you have the right style of remote you can tape the button down and just use electrical tape to make the pushbutton connect the negative battery lead on the remote without any soldering... that way, when and if any of us are able to sell our houses again, the remotes can be changed back. Of course, I totally toasted one of my remotes before I figured that out

I dont know what to tell you, I have had my EP3 for a while and I have not had any truble's except the dumb *** lady that rear ended my car while it was parked... But nothing that a little touch up paint could not cover up.
