so my 2nd gear and clutch recently took a **** so i went out on the market for parts. i came across a friend selling his stage 2 carbon kevlar clutch from ebay and talked him down to $60 for the kit. i also went ahead and bought the most expensive second gear set ever which was the hardened 2nd gear set from gearspeed. I also got their carbon synchronizer for second gear as well. now they say that a 500 mile break in period is needed but seeing as how i did just a LITTLE bit of spirited driving last night i thought i'd give my review early. plus 80 miles is almost 500 :vtec: anyways lets start with the clutch. it feels very stock although it does have a little kick to it. slight bit more resistance than stock but nothing that makes your leg tire out from shifting. i dumped it at about 3500-4500 rpms a few times last night and it grabs simply amazing. btw the brand is xtd. the clutch grabbed immediatly and with some decent force. good so far but upon my next tranny flush will be giving an updated review. now on to the hardened second gear and synchro. once i opened the box i thought it was lighter than the second gear i had in my tranny already though they weigh just about the same upon further review. the whole set(which includes second gear, 1-2 sleeve and hub) looked amazing as far as gears go. and the carbon synchro also looked on par. although we had to give it a little convincing to get all the parts moving since it was a triple cone. a good soak should do the trick for those thinking of getting synchros. once the countershaft was put back together and the car was running i took it out for a spin. second gear went in better than any other gear and was effortless to throw it in there. very smooth. yesterday i decided the hell with it and did a couple of launches and redline shifts into second. i could literally flick my finger and it would grab second. nothing like before where i had to pull the shifter down into second and keep my hand there just to make sure it grabbed. second gear grabbed very quickly and smooth as hell even at redline. so far so good on both the clutch and the second gear set. i just need to adjust my clutch pedal some so the release point is higher and it will be perfect.

*update* i just adjusted my clutch pedal today at work and it feels incredible now. considerably smoother engagement then when i had the stock clutch in there.
