Re: ep3 suspension clunking sound!!
I have the same problem... I haven't checked it out because the car is covered in snow and isn't moving till I move into my condo where I have a garage. Once there I will take it apart.
My noise comes from the top part of the suspension on the left side... from what my mechanic tells me it could be the spring isn't sitting right. Will only know once that coilover is of!
I would go get it checked out if you are planning on DDing it!

I got it installed at a shop. they said they dont see anything installed wrong. they think its some bolt that is worn and needs to be replaces. i forgot which bolt but its the one on the top. do u think is that problem? or springs isnt sitting right or tie rods??

Tie rod the guy can check and he will see if its done or not... I think its most the spring that isn't well nested or hitting the bump stop! Mind you if there is a bolt that is messed up he should of replaced it on the spot!

Ah yes...the infamous EP3/RSX front suspension clunk.
As was said, this could be any number of problems. Spring alignment, top-hat alignment, loose swaybar, loose nut on the strut top, tie rods, etc.
My bet is that the shop screwed up the install. It's pretty easy to do if you've never worked on those cars. And if your shock is now leaking, your "shop" probably put the strut assembly back together with an impact wrench.
Good luck.

Why else would the shock have blown (unless you're riding slammed, that is)?

they will lie about it........another reason I do all my own susension work...the only down side to doing your own work is if you screw it up, you have noone else to blame but yourself......
