Default EP3 replaced radiator but still over heating

i recently replaced my radiator because the old one had a hole in it. the fans are not coming on unless i turn on the ac which leads me to believe the fan switch is bad. but another strange thing is happening. no matter how hot the car gets (between half and full on the temp gauge on short trips) when the heat is on it only blows cold air.

any ideas?

thanks

either that or he has a giant air pocket from replacing the radiator and refilling the coolant system. And since he just replaced the radiator my money is on air pocket
