coilover uneven? alignment fix?
i just installed aspec coilovers (nonadjustable)
and replace lower ball joints
i noticed the right side is like... maybe 3-5mm higher than the left passenger side its very minimal
i havent gotten an alignment yet and camber looks a bit uneven (right looks more positive than the left)
so my question is will an alignment and corner balancing fix this
and can camber affect ride height like that?
it has had maybe 4 days to settle in now also
and replace lower ball joints

Re: coilover uneven? alignment fix?
The A-spec kit are springs, not coilovers. Alignment settings won't change ride height.
Are you sure the spring coils are settled properly in the shock perch? There's a lip on the tophats where the spring has to nestle into, check to make sure the spring is seated in that groove.
Also you can measure the wheel gap from the fender to the top of the wheel to know if any corner is sitting lower than the others. Make sure the car is on level ground first.

Re: coilover uneven? alignment fix?
actually i looked again and measured again and its def more than a few mm
like 1/3inch
could camber be the difference in height?
i had to unbolt the lca and stuff in the front
trying to figure this out before i get an alignment
dont want to pay for an alignment twice
could it be because the engine is on the right side more than the left?

Re: coilover uneven? alignment fix?
taking a mesument from the top of the tire to the fender is kinda silly....If you must use the fender, use the center of the wheel. I prefer to use the jacking points to the ground as fenders can be damaged. Did you point the arrows in the right directions on the top hats? If you didn't, that might be you problem

Re: coilover uneven? alignment fix?
i dont remember them moving around at all?
i thought only aftermarket ones where "spinnable"
to my knowledge the aspec suspension only go on one way dont see how i couldve installed it wrong it came fully assembled? they were label rr,rl,fr,fl
i've been driving it around for almost the past week now
mustclime i measure from the jackpoints like you said and its almost close to a 1/4 inch
zerovandez http://www.curryacuraparts.com/pro.html 650 shipped + tie rod ends = about 720-750

EXACTLY... OP, if you did all this suspension work you need an alignment, well at least if you give a $**t about your tires, suspension, well your car and its driving performance in general. I too am OCD so anytime I take any suspension component off I get a fresh alignment. When you take things apart and put them back together on the suspension everything will go on fine however you'll never get it back together EXACTLY how it was before, so the suspension geometry has changed at least a little bit.
You replaced the tie rod ends so you for sure need an alignment to dial in your front toe. Camber being off can make a huge difference in measurements if you are measuring tire to fender edge. Either way, there is no way to "eyeball" alignment measurements. The only reason I pay for an alignment is because the damn alignment rack is so expensive and well it would take up a full stall in my garage.
I know its somewhat expensive to get an alignment but you may not have heard that Firestone offers a lifetime alignment service. It costs almost double what a single alignment costs however you pay once and you get alignments at no cost on that vehicle for as long as you own it. Even if I don't disassemble or change anything on my suspension setup I still have them put my girls on the rack every 5,000 miles just to check. In my professional opinion wheel alignment is as important to vehicle maintenance as an oil change... Would you go to McDonalds and put used fryer oil in your car, or would you used Mobil1 Synthetic? Food for thought (forgive the pun).

Re: coilover uneven? alignment fix?
not trying to eyeball alignment measurements
i was going to wait till after this weekend to get an alignment either way
but after seeing it uneven i keep wondering if there is something else i need to fix first?
so you think if i get an alignment everything is fine?
i heard firestone doesnt let you adjust your camber to your own specs?
im reconsidering spending the extra $$ for a lifetime deal now that you mentioned it again...
- i need to drop the subframe to put in my es motor mounts this weekend
- i wanted to let the springs/shocks settle before i go for an alignment
- i dont have 150 for a lifetime alignment with firestone, my budget is 70 (which is what one of my local alignment shop charges)

Re: coilover uneven? alignment fix?
they told me i had to replace a bunch of stuff...and i need a camber kit...
i don't trust that at all
had them print out what they told me needed replacing
pics below
probably going to put in motor mounts and go to a different firestone for an alignment again. i really doubt i need a camber kit
glad i bought a lifetime alignment =D

Re: coilover uneven? alignment fix?
dont see why i need to replace my wheel bearing along with control arm? cant i just use the current wheel bearing seeing as nothing is wrong with it...
the guy said it has to be replaced with it? so maybe its a firestone policy?
i really dunno...i just know i dont trust what they told me at all...they told me all this without showing me physically at all..like i just need to blindly believe them
