Since prime is down, I'll try posting this here. I remember reading about this before, and I think I read it's nothing to worry about, but figured I should ask.

My NSX is making a ticking sound when idling, when cold. When it warms up, the ticking goes away for the most part. I haven't had a valve adjustment since I've owned it(18 months), so I'm hoping that's all it is?

Any advise/thoughts?

Mine had the same thing a few years back. A valve adjustment did the trick. Fairly sure every NSX owner has had this happen.

Sewing machine sound is normal for nsx engine. It's more pronounced if you have your engine cover off. Even after valve adjustment, mine didn't really change in the sound volume.

A valve adjustment might help, but a certain level of noise is normal.

Honda's recommendation is that the valves should be adjusted every 15K miles or 12 months, whichever comes first; FWIW, I consider valve adjustments to be needed based on mileage, not time. You don't mention how many miles the car has gone since the valves were adjusted. If you don't know for sure that they were done fewer than 15K miles ago, I would have them done now.
