What LSD is this?!
Ok I got a 96 Integra Type r Engine and tranny (JDM) I opened up the tranny this weekend to install the 4.78 final drive and it wont fit!
My final drive Ring gear has teeth on the inside that contact these gears on the differential. I know that it is a limited slip, but looking at pictures on the net I have no clue what kind of differential it is. It is a gear type like the oem or quaif, but the quaif and oem the gears are in enclosed in a housing not open and exposed. Also the bearings on each side of the differential are open faced bearings that are at a angle, not a sealed bearing.
So... what kind of differential do I have here? and I am guessing I will have to get a different one to use my final drive.
Any help will be appriciated

sounds like you have an open diff, not an LSD
and sounds like you have a LS/B16 sized differential
in order to use the final drive you purchased, you will need a ITR/GSR sized differential

yeah I have that, the ring gear on my differential has teeth on the inside that contact the torsen gears instead of a housing

Based on the file path, it came from a CTR? K-series or B-series? (probably K)

Re: What LSD is this?! (Dan GSR)
yeah, I will agree with dan, but yes it is a torsen with exposed gears.
I got the engine and tranny from password JDM and I talked to them about it. One of the guys over there told me that it is definatly a LSD and it might be this custom aftermarket race lsd that has the 4.78 final drive.
I am also going to check that they have the same amount of teeth
Henry (the guy who is putting this together), told me that the tranny had definatly been open before and all of the gears and synchro's look brand new. not one has a scratch....
Anyway.. enough of this wait a few hours and I will have some pics! I am curious to know what I have
