Tires: Toyo T1-S v. Michelin Pilot Sport
I need new tires on my 98 328is and I figure I'd ask here since you guys are the most likely to be using ultra high performance tires. I'm looking for a maximum performance tire with:
*Maximum performance rubber
*Low to moderate price point
*Reasonable treadlife
*Resistance to hydroplaning
*Suitability for daily driving, regular autocrossing, and occaisonal DE
I've got OE 17" x 7.5" wheels. I'm thinking 235/40ZR17... will that fit?
The two options in my mind right now are:
*Toyo T1-S, Tireswap.com, $155/ea.
*Michelin Pilot Sport, DTD, $140/ea.
S-03's are out of my price range. $160/tire is pretty much my upper limit. I have no problem, however, getting a Yoko ES100 or Falken Azenis for $100/tire if that would be a better choice. Sure, they'd wear faster, but they cost 33% less. Looking to make a decision asap.

Kumho MX is avlable in 225/45/17 and 235/45/17 - $119-$120 and I'd rather have them than either ofe tires.
I'd pick a Michelin over a Toyo anyday.

Or Yokohama AVS ES100's. Don't know if they're in that size, but they perform well and are cheap!
