I'm looking to get 4 new tires for my stock gsr wheels.
Which would be a better tire?
Yokohama AVS ES100
Dunlop SP Sport FM901 or
Kumho Ecsta Supra 712 or
Falken Ziex ZE-512
all tires are around the same price of $66-73.

I'd get the Kumhos, those are the ones I planning on getting soon. My friend has the Dunlops and they're decent.

Same money, much better tire.

Yes, but they aren't available in the stock size. Running them in 205/50/15 trim isn't an option for some people(like me ). I prefer the crisper handling that's delivered by a tire that's properly sized for the stock rim.
Get the Yoko's.

i use 205/50/15's......... feels much more "crisper" than stock 195's.
a lot of other people would say the same

Listen Aaron, I don't want to get into a pissing contest with you ... I don't even know you.
I simply stated my opinion, please don't take it personally. Bottom line is you spent your money on the tires that you wanted for your car. Right? Well, all of the rest of us have that same choice to make. If you are happy with the SO-3's, them I for one know that I'm glad for you, especially since you've already laid out the cash for them.
And as far as 'crisp' goes ... I'm not sure if you understand what I mean when I say that. Do you autoX? If so, you'll prolly know what I'm saying when I talk about how long it takes for the tires to 'set' as you enter a turn at a high rate of speed. This is more or less important depending on whether or not you take the early or late apex. Anyway, I digress ... A 205 on the stock six inch wide wheels will have more sidewall flex than a 195 will. Especially an SO-3. Their 205 is wider than most other manufacturer's 205. They set out to put a lot of 'meat' on the road, and they do it!
If I was running a 7 inch wide rim, I would run the SO-3's. But as it is, with the stock rims, I'll only run a 195.
I don't know what your definition of 'cripser' is, nor do I know what the 'lot of other people's' definition of it is. But I tell you this, the pro's would agree with me on this thing. I'm in no way claiming to be a pro, I just run with a few of them and chat with them online.
Cheers (Ok, don't take the drink literally, you're a bit shy of the legal age yet ... yes?)
(And again, this reply was only meant to provide info to support what I said about running 195/55's on the stock rim.)

Re: (strider7slvr2k1gsr)
I agree with strider7slvr2k1gsr, 205 width tires on stock rims won't have that "crisp" turn-in. But, what they trade for turn-in, sometimes is higher amount of grip. But you get a wider rim, and you have the best of both worlds. Stock rims are just too skinny.

Re: If you had to choose from these tires, which would it be? (BIGGIDYBOB)
thanks for all the comments and opinions.
you guys have also answered some of my questions about putting a wider tire on a stock rim. Correct me if i'm wrong, the best way to go would be 195/55/15? That's probably what i'll buy.
The Yoko's are the cheaper tire price wise out of the four. I've heard good things about all the tires on the list.
I'd still like to hear some others. Thanks again.
