Re: Tire life (SoCal ITR)
some only got about 5K miles or so, but Kelly got 20K + miles oh his even with 1 day at Buttonwillow, 15 autox's, 1 autox practice day (equivalent to about 5 regular autox's) and the rigors of daily driving.
I stopped using mine (got JDM wheels) around 10K miles, but they were still pretty meaty when I removed them.
yoshi - who should be sleeping now

Re: Tire life (yoshi234)
I don'y know how... I only got 6500, and I don't think that I'm that hard on my car. Some people at my original dealership thought that I must be killing the car, but when I stopped by the new one, One guy said he went through two sets on his first ITR in 10k, his second was stolen.... Damn thieves......

Re: Tire life (SoCal ITR)
At 7,500 miles I had them rotated front to rear... The front ones had worn down quite a lot, and if I get 7,500 more miles out of them, I'll be lucky! (With no racing, just daily driving.)
Great tires, but too expensive and short lived.

Re: Tire life (SoCal ITR)
Looks like you guys have been doing too many 'burn outs'....?!
During my 81,000 kms (~50,300 mls) of 'hard' driving (whenever possible) with a lot of country/highway kms also....I have used 2 sets of B'stone RE010s, a set of B'stone RE711s and a set of B'stone RE540s (on my 2nd set of rims, for track use). I have obtained the following average tyre wear -
RE010s - 20,000 kms (~12,400 mls).
RE711s - 30,000+ kms (~18,600 mls) so far....which are still gripping very well (even though they are down to the 'wear indicators'!) and in my view, are better than the RE010s.
RE540s (see photo) - 4,000 kms (~2,500 mls) of road driving and ~600 kms (~370 mls) of track driving....a f*cking great tyre in any ones language!

I regularly (@ least every 2 weeks) check the tyre pressures - running about 36 to 42 psi - and rotate the tyres front to back, several times during the life of each set.
