Synthethic oil? Redline or AMSoil or etc...
I have always used Redline but when I went to buy some more today at my local Speed Merchant they told me they will be phasing out the Redline and that AMSoil was better because it has a much higher thermal breaking point,(you know what I mean, it basically can take more heat before the oil start to break down). So I am curious.
Is AMSoil good oil, or should I stick to Redline, OR should I just use synthetics like Castrol or Mobil 1.
Redline and AMSoil cost about $7 a quart and castrol and Mobil are about $3-4/quart.
I am not worried about price, mostly thinking that I may be overdoing it by using Redline when I can get the same result with Castrol or Mobil, also curious if anyone has used AMSoil....

Oil is sort of like religion - it's a matter of whose marketing material you believe.
I believe that 100 percent synthetic oil is worth paying $3-4 per quart for, because it flows better at cold temperatures and it's more resistant to breakdown at high temps.
I believe that Mobil 1 is as good as any other synthetic oil on the market, and that it's not worth paying more than that for some specialty brand.
Your religion may be different from mine.

what is the price on the "leading edge oil"? Is it worth for a street car with some Auto-X. I have not Autox yet, but planning on it soon.

Leading Edge oil ranges from $595 a quart, to $9 a quart.
It destroys NEO.
Come over and dyno NEO VS it..
NEo will get handed.
I got a falex machine too...I bet the LE takes 3x more weight also...
