Stolen - Boston
97 ITR. White. Stolen from my driveway at 2:40am today. Neighbor saw them pushing it out of the driveway. Neighbor called the cops who were here in an instant. But just too late. Lojack activated.

Do the local authorities use Lo-Jack?
Any security measures on the car?
Sucks to hear man. And a 97 on top of that.
Hope to read this tomorrow along with a report of an arrest or 2...

Re: Stolen - Boston
The car had a pretty good (audible) alarm system. My neighbor said it didn't go off. I know it's just a matter of seconds for pros to jimmy the window, pop the hood and disconnect the battery negative, but how did they bypass it all together?
I imagine thieves read these threads, so be aware thieves, you came close to being shot last night. I would not have hesitated.

Re: Stolen - Boston
Have a backup battery installed to the alarm? Tested that battery in past year or so?
Doesn't much matter now...just curious.
Seems more often, thieves are just trying to push by hand or another car...an ITR away. Not even bothering to hotwire and drive it.
Might be worth it to drive around a bit. They may have ditched it to see if it gets tracked by GPS/lojack.

Re: Stolen - Boston
the website says all counties in MA are covered, there should be a recovery soon. :crosses fingers: thankfully i haven't had to test mine yet. i also have gps installed so i dont have to rely on the police to recover, i could go after it myself.

Re: Stolen - Boston
I can honestly say that if I left my ITR out of the garage in the driveway for one night, it would be gone.

Re: Stolen - Boston
Totally not trying to be a dick here but what was a 97 ITR doing in your driveway overnight? Was that where you normally kept it? Was it a one time thing leaving it out and they grabbed it?

Re: Stolen - Boston
I don't live in "Boston". I live in a nice suburb of Boston. Car's been in my driveway(s) since 1998. Mostly living under a car cover. There isn't any room in the living room for the car...

Re: Stolen - Boston
Hi Paul,
I am very sorry to hear. I frequent the greater Boston area regularly for work and have yet to see an ITR, for obvious reasons of course.
Best of luck with everything. :-(
