Question regarding the Spoon Twinblock Calipers
I just had my mechanic installed them Spoon Twinblock Calipers and realized that JDM 16" rims need some wheel spacers. I did some searches and some says 5mm will work and some says 7mm. well, i got myself some 8mm spacers and it clears fine but i'm not too sure if running them with stock studs is a good idea or not. now my questions is, is it safe to run the car with the stock studs or do i have to get extended studs? now my other issue was that i bought the EBC Green Stuff pads that is made for the OEM brake calipers and had some issues installing into the calipers cause its seems like the pads is a tad thicker than oem or something. we had to machine the rotors down alot just to make the pads fit in tightly. also i forgot to mention that i'm using the EBC sports rotors also. so i don't know if the rotors is a little thicker than oem or not but its supposed to be oem size. i wish i had the oem rotors to compare but i don't. so right now i'm just driving with the tightly fit pads hoping to wear them down a bit so its not tight anymore but i don't hear any of those clicks that many has reports on the Spoon Calipers. Now can anybody tell me if there's a list of 17" rims that will clear these calipers? i'm forced to sell my 17 ssr sp1 rims cause it didn't clear the calipers even with them 8mm spacers.

IIRC, anything beyond a 5mm spacer you should use extended lugs. Not sure about the rest of your question.

Re: Question regarding the Spoon Twinblock Calipers (get RIGHT)
did your pads have the two tabs on the backing plate? if not thats why your pads are fitting incorectly, the spoon caliper requires those two tabs to properly set the pad in the caliper.
I had that issue w/ a set of cobalt xr2's when they first came out, didnt have the tabs and the pads held the rotor constantly

the only reason u need to use spacers for your JDM 16" wheels is that they are from a 98"-up DC2R. The JDM hubs are stick out 5mm's more then your US ITR/JDM CTR 5 lug

Someone else mentioned the same thing at Expo when we were standing around with the PIC guys talking about the suspension arms they had in the raffle.

Re: Question regarding the Spoon Twinblock Calipers (Crank)
if thats the case...should i get the JDM hubs instead of using the spacers?...i believe that would be much more safer wouldn't it? so far the pads has loosen up and the braking is getting better...yea i was scared that by the time it loosen up the rotor would be warped but so far so good besides the fact that i'm scared as hell driving without an extended studs with them spacers

Re: Question regarding the Spoon Twinblock Calipers (Crank)
yea i changed the spacers to a 5mm but my JDM 16" still scrape the rotors so i added 1mm of washers to spacers and it works perfect...no shakes driving or braking and now it drives like a dream...just sux that i have some scrape marks on the calipers now...but owell...
