It was my first Expo. Definitely not my last. Had lots of fun and took lots of pics. Would be cool if Expo 13 was at Buttonwillow's #13 configuration. Would be nice if the west coast guys stepped up.

Bingo. Maybe in a few years the WC can build a track community. Since I traveled over 6,000 miles this year for ITR Expo I have no problem hating.


Most likely? Come on, you'l be there. Offs are part of tracking. It's a matter of when, not if. You handled it well and fortunately it wasn't a hard hit. I hope your nerves are good and the car managed to survive without much damage. I'l see you next year.

In short, in 2011 for ITR Expo 11 we made two attempts to bring the event out west to Buttonwillow. The first was a full pledged event, huge list of people claiming they would drive, but very few paid drivers. The second attempt was a mini-ITR Expo in conjunction with the rescheduled ITR Expo 11. Again, not enough paid drivers.

The best thing you can do is to get involved with your local track community. Be a regular and recruit more regulars. Spread the word. It takes a strong local showing to support ITR Expo, regardless of the location. Local is general here, it is common to travel for ITR Expo. The caravan is part of the trip. This is a large community-run event, not a small one-day track day. Even if the event isn't local or for some reason you can't afford to drive, attend. It will only help your cause and at the end of the day you will walk away with a good experience-and maybe some sponsor giveaways.
