JDM ITR all the way from Asia, Now with Engine Build Pics
Hey peeps..thought I'll just do a lil post on my new wife back here in Malaysia. Used to roll in a b18c1 eg and then upgraded it to a b20vtec when I was still at the states for 5 years.
Guess I couldn't live without vtec so thought I'll get what used to my dream car years ago.. a jdm dc2 type r and here she is ladies and gentleman.
A little info on the build..
Toda C2 cams & springs
Feels 4-2-1 manifold
Mugen Twin Loop catback & muffler
Mugen CAI airbox
Exedy racing clutch
Exedy lightened flywheel
Port and polish
Skimmed head
Tein Type Flex coilovers (fully adjustable)
Apexi Power FC
Apexi Auto Timer
Mugen gasket cover
Walbro fuel pump
Superpro bushings
Carbon fiber hood
Dixcel (Japan) SD slotted rotors front & rear
Dixcel Z pads (front), Project Mu pads (rear)
Pic of the dynochart
I'm currently doing a rebuild on the engine as my timing belt snapped a couple of weeks ago.
Planned upgrades:
82mm 12.5 compression ratio Wiseco pistons
Skunk2 Pro Intake Manifold
370cc Injectors
Plausible (Do give your input on this as I'm still currently debating on whether I should spend more money having already spent a ton on my car already)
Skunk2 Pro2 Stage2s camshafts and valvetrain
STR 68 or 70mm Throttle Body
Skunk2 Composite Fuel Rail
Enjoy and all comments on the build and car appearance are welcome

Re: JDM ITR all the way from Asia
Thank you guys!
This was the only one of it's kind, at least for sale as I was looking for a genuine ITR, not a converted one.
Well, 8 of the intake valves and 2 of the exhaust valves were bent along with cracked valve guides. The others were fine, the head is ready now..back from the machine shop, currently waiting for the bottom end to be bored.
LOL there are *****s..I'm one btw or locals here that ARE into the usdm front end thingy, baffles my mind..I guess the grass is always greener on the other side.
Yeaps it does not come with a SRS Steering wheel, the steering looks more like a CTR steering wheel to me, correct me if I'm wrong.
Any input on the build??

You have toda C2 and u want skunk 2 Pro stage 2? I wouldn't go through the trouble, sounds like a downgrade to me...
Also you have a port and polished intake manifold and still want to buy a skunk 2 pro intake manifold? I doubt it is a good investment... And as for the TB, might be a good idea to go bigger than stock since your boring the block 82 mm's along with those 370cc fuel injectors and fuel rail... But Keep the money from the intake manifold, cam and valvetrain and get a good tune! Nice car, but we need an Engine Bay pic or GTFO!

Re: JDM ITR all the way from Asia
The sleeves are tapered all the way across hence the use of oversized pistons. It's a very tired engine at 278,000km (174,000 miles) anyway..so I guess it'll be a good thing to do.
The cams were recommended by the tuner, said he has been doing a lot of tune ups with the skunk2 and they make more power over the midrange to top end, i might just do a cam comparison if possible . Ohh as far as the manifold is concerned, the previous owner told me only the cylinder head has been p&p'ed, the im is not so yeaa
Haha will definitely take pics of the build up later in the day!
