Default Idle speed setting

Can someone give me some pointers on the Idle speed adjustment procedure described in the Helm manual. I gave it a try once and it did not yield any results. I would like to experiment a slightly higher idle speed ( about 1000 rpm) to see if it takes care of an annoying little "almost staling while warming up" problem the car as.
-Did someboby manage to increase it's idle speed over spec with this procedure ?
-Can I actually reach 1000 rpm with the adjusment screw ?
-Is there any downsize at adjusting the idle speed higher then the specs ?

Thank you

If this as already been covered before, just call me a nooby and please point me to the proper link ( I didn't find anything with the search fonction).

Default Re: Idle speed setting (JPP)

The following combination of things might help:
1)Slightly advanced timing (1 degree or so)
2)Open the throttle butterfly slightly (recalibrate TPS)
3)Open (counter clockwise) throttle body bleed screw

Again, some combination of those things will yeild a higher idle - it's somewhat blackmagic.
