no no no first and foremost he needs to make sure he has gas in the car and pressure from the fuel pump. disconnect the fuel line, put it in a cup, and turn the key to ON but dont try to start it. see if gas comes out.

It won't, cuz the battery cables are disconnected.

You guys dissapoint me .. any 5-year-old can see the VTEC solenoid is not primed properly ... its never going to start like that !!!
