Carbon Fiber Hood Question!!
Hey guys.. my cf hood on my ITR has faded and it isn't glossy at all anymore. I don't know what caused this, but I tried polishing it back to a better finish; no luck. I was wondering if anyone knew anything about carbon fiber. Is there any way a body shop could possibly restore it, or is restoration out of the question? I hope not (considering the price of a new hood- ugh). Thanks for any advice! The paint on my car is immaculate, and the faded hood ruins it.

There are a few threads in the FAQ in the appearance/cosmetic forum. I believe you can wet sand it and either, use a marine polish or have a body shop shoot another coat of clear on it.

if you clear it again, its just going to lock in an old faded clear underneath it. try having a professional detailer wetsand and cutpolish it back. worked on mine. took me quite a few hours to wetsand the entire thing, but someone keyed it so it needed to be done. should come out great again for u.

or you know...you could always just have it painted to MATCH YOUR CAR...
oh wait, i forgot...then no one would know you had a CF hood so you'd lose mad stunna points
