Head is the same, the difference lies in the valves (intake), springs, a bit of porting and the cams of course.
It has been done countless number of times.

wrong, the shape of the cylinder on the C5 head and the B16B head are different shapes... remember, TypeR engines are hand build

before you go spouting off what you believe to be fact, you should really know what you are talking about....
B16B = CTR engine
the only difference between the ctr engine and itr engine is displacement....
1.6 litre vs. 1.8 ltr

Exactly, and what's more, the B16B has the same deck-height as a 1.8L motor... IIRC it's just got a shorter stroke to make it a 1.6L engine. So, it's not the same 1.6L DOHC block that Honda uses for every other 1.6 motor. The B16B is one interesting engine....

the ctr would have been a whole lot more car with the 87mm stroke stock

Your thinking of the C1 head, not the C5 head. C5 head shares the exact same casting as the B16 (PR3). Confirm your info before you make such a bold statement.
