282 calipers prelude/civic mb6/hrv brake pads question
iv upgraded these onto my 96 dc2...
however i used civic mb8 calipers and tried using them with prelude bb1 discs...a few mm needs to be milled off the carrier to make em fit..
also after further research...iv found out mb6 discs are actually 280mm not 282..so i take it the pads/calipers in the mb6 will be designed for coverage of 2mm less on the mb6 making prelude brakes (EVER SOO SLIGHTLY lol) better?
i was just reading up about brake pads..some have the same fitment but have a larger surface area etc...so some brakes that have 282mm discs...actually have pads in there with smaller surface areas hence less breaking efficiency....is this true?
and will all the pads that fit the 282mm calipers be the same for all the cars that come with the 282's? (assuming there all hondas of course) or is there a certain type of 282 caliper that comes with a pad that has a better surface area?
i know its all a few millimetres im talking about but id just like to know.

Re: 282 calipers prelude/civic mb6/hrv brake pads question
I take it you're in the UK. You need Prelude Si-VTEC BB4 rotors.
45251-S0A-000 DISK, FR. BRAKE (15", 23T)
Then you need 98 spec or UK R front calipers and carriers. You can use MB6 calipers and carriers, but it looks like you need washers to space the carrier away from the disk.
