10w30 is perfect for DOHC VTEC motors, you can switch to 10w30 ASAP. i think honda recommends 10w30 year round for the ITR.
5w30 might be a little too "thin" for high-reving motors like the b18c5, f20c, etc..

the other way around.. as you want to run 5w30 in cold winter.. i ran 5w30 all year long.. but i'd think 10w30 would do better in warmer weather.. its all depends on outside temps.
then, i read synthetic oil can handle cold better in same weight as organic.. but in general, you want to stay with ratings according to weather and how hot you're going to run the car.

IF you are not having problems with the 5W30 just leave it as is. Acura/Honda recommends 5W30 for your particular motor. The difference between the two is the 5W30 is a 5 wieght at cold temps, and the 10W30 is a 10 wieght at cold temps which means 5W30 has better flow when it is really cold outside, the 10W 30 does not have the cold flow capabilty that the 5W30 has, but has better high temp protection .

I agree. I'd stick with the 5w-30. That is what is factory recommended. Since you live in Cali and it probably does not go below freezing, you could use a 10w-30 also. I like to stick with factory recommendations..

AHhhhh WHAT???!?!? You obviously have NO idea what you are talking about....the first number is the weight of the oil at startup...on a cold engine...the second number is the weight of the oil at operating temperature....so, duh, it's the same when your engine is warmed up. It's only thinner on a cold startup. (Which is good in the winter because that means better flow when it's cold out)
The larger the gap between the two numbers, the quicker it breaks down and needs replaced. If you change it at 3,000, though, you will be a-ok.
Use 5w in the winter and 10w in the summer for a little better protection.
