whistling noise ?
hey, i need some sugestions about this wistling noise comming from my alternator/ timming belt area, it gets louder from 1-3k rpms, but after 3 i can barely hear it, prolly cus my engines too loud. i tired to adjust my alternator belt, looser and tighter but to no avail. could it be just my alternator? i've been thinking of removing my alternator belt and running my motor to see if its it, but would it start up with out the belt? TIA oh yeah its not the intake. thanks

Re: whistling noise ? (One8Hatch)
It's probably your belt squeeking.
You can start and run the car without the alternator, but the juice taken out of your battery to run lights, accessories, etc. will not get replaced by the alternator. It would depend on how much electrical stuff is one to determine how long the battery will last. But it will surely be fine for the quick test you want to perform.
Good luck, and as always - Let us know how it turns out.
Not saying ANYTHING about you at all, but so many times people ask for help, get it fixed, but don't post here to let us know how it turned out.
