Well today I noticed I was on E and had only 230 miles since the last fill up. Also when I pumped the gas, I was only allowed to put in 9.xx gallons before it stoped me. Meaning I stilll had 5 gallons left in the tank then. Then when I get in the car and start it up it doesnt even go up the full line, but rather only 75% complete. Anyone have any idea what could cause this?

try taking off your gages...when you take em off open the case and then see if you can get the arrows out and try to grease them there may be dust. Happend to a freinds truck might be your problem otherwise i have no idea maybe the tank reading device is broken might want to have it looked at.

either the gauge itself or possible the fuel sending unit that mesure gas leval in the the tank. You can pull the sending unit out and move it up and down and see if your gauge moves to see if it is working

Dont need pics, you cannot miss it. I dont know how to turn the car on and do this though, even if its in the "on" position without the engine running. The pump will try to pressureize the tank, and if you cut power to it, the sending unit will die also.

Did you put on aftermarket glows on the gauges, if so you could have put the needle back in the wrong place, happen to me all the time

The Integra fuel tank is 13.2 gallons, so if you filled it up but only put in 9.xx gallons, then you had at most 4 gallons left in the tank. However, the automatic cutoff on gas pumps ALWAYS cut off LONG before it's actually full, and no 2 pumps cut off at the same point.

For the past 2 years I've been keeping meticulous records of my gas mileage. This means I have to know that I'm filling it up to the EXACT same point every time. The only way to do this is to fill it all the way up just short of overflowing. When the gas pump cuts off automatically, I always have to add MORE than 1 full gallon to bring it up to the brim.

My experience has been that if I fill up right when I first see the gas light (usually at least 300 miles), I usually put in 10.xx gallons. So if you only fill up until it automatically clicks off, 9.xx sounds about right. I think your gas guage is just fine.

As always you have great advice and insight I use to purposley over flow all the time to get it to the fullest and ****. Guess I'll try and fill it up to the brim too(w/o overflowing), and also if you have the time please visit my other thread where I need help BAD

It's not hard to fill it up the brim. After it clicks off by itself, I just pump in the last gallon really slow. Stop pumping when you hear/see bubbles coming out, wait till the bubbling stops, then ease in a little more until you just barely see liquid gasoline sitting there at the top. I think I have overflowed once, maybe twice, in the past 2 years.
