Default want to test with a diff distributor

ok so my car gets no spark. i checked for current on those two connections that go to the distributor i only get current thru one connection... the smaller one..is that suppose to be like that?

so im thinking that its my distributor.( i have changed coil, rotor, cap,)so i want to test out by putting a distributor from my friends B18 GSR....but i have the B17 GSR.. is it fine if im able to check with his distributor or it wont work.

depends. if your b17 and the gsr both have obd1 distributors you can just swap them out no problem. but if it is a newer gsr engine its going to be obd2a/b both of which have different plugs for the wiring harness. or i could just save you the trouble and tell you your distributor is shot. it's not uncommon
