Default turbo ls

I'm planning on picking up a 2000 turbo ls with 27,000 miles. He is running the greddy kit TDO5 turbo but without the gsr piggyback for obvious reasons. Its running a safc and injectors on 6lbs boost. He thinks the car has a burnt valve. It has a really rough idle, the motor shakes at idle. There is also a clicking sound. I'm planning on picking it up and getting the head resufaced and putting in a new valvetrain, getting a engine management system, ignition system, and fuel pump. My goal is to make about 250whp. Any advice will be greatly appreciated

don't boost it anymore if you resurface the head. that just means your compression is going to jump up. does it have a lightweight flywheel, some flywheels feel like crap at idle.

ask em if he's ever adjusted the valve lash. if he says no then youve got work to do.

Well it's true that if he takes more off the head his compression will increase but that's no reason to not boost anymore. With proper tuning, his goals of 250fwhp can probably be achieved with the small increase in compression. And if it's still a problem he can just throw on a thicker head gasket and his increased compression problem is solved.

The motor shakes only at idle. With the slightest amount of throttle it stops. If it had broken mounts wouldnt it shake a lot more also you cant feel it shaking in the car.

I currently have a 95 gsr with only 50,000, jdm front, itr header, lexus green on bronze gt3's etc. and heres the car I want to buy
