my tires are wearing out on the inside and i have been told 2 things. Discount tires where i got my tires from told me that it is the alignment and he has seen this problem a million times, Alignment plus tells me its the camber and want to sell and install the camber kit and do the alignment for 500 bucks!! so who s right? need ur feedback!! thanks!

I just came back from buying new front tires because of the problem you have. That sounds like a lot but that's about what I ended up spending actually. I'm assuming you have lowered your car. Consider this: You spend approximately 120- 200 bucks on the kit itself. Alignment is 50- 60. Labor is about 50 an hour. My shop said it took them 3 hours to do everything. So in the end I spent almost 500 also. Now, I could have installed the kit myself and then taken it to get aligned. This would be your best bet.

if youre car is lowered its probably camber. i paid around 150 to get my wheel alignment done, and front camber kit installed. 500 is ridiculous.

whenever you lower a car, it throws the camber off, but the toe is also out now....either of these can lead to inside tire wear.
how far did you lower the car?
you'll most likely need a camber kit, and the toe is usually correctable via factory adjustments, so doing a camber kit then having it realigned would be your safest bet.

if your car is even lowered a half of an inch your camber is probably off. so if you have a lowered car its your camber. my friends accord had the same problem. ate tires for lunch.

Still...anytime you lower your ride, it'll affect the camber somewhat.

it is kind of both but the thing you need to have dialed in/checked out is your TOE angles.... my car had Eibach Sportline and Koni yellows.. it lowered about 2" and I definately had camber (you could see it).. when I got my car aligned.. it had negative camber ranging from -1.8* to -3.1* (* = degrees).... I told the alignment tech that I wasn't going to get a front camber kit and that to just set the toe to as close to spec/0 as possible.... he did that and I don't have any odd or adverse tire wear...

before I got the alignment my inner edges were wearing and I went through a set of tires (the insides were worn so that the steel belts were showing.. and the outside still had some tread)...

for the rear I just did the ghetto washer trick.. the washers cost 7 cents (literally) at home depot.. you just put the washers between the part where the upper control arm mounts to the body/frame. . you use the washers to shim it out a little...

anyway after doing the washer trick and getting the alignment so that my Toe angles were in check (I still had neg camber) my wheels wore fine and no odd wear patterns or bad wear on the inner edges... it still had like -1.8 - 2.1 degrees of camber..

so you probably have both camber and bad alignment/bad toe... but get an alignment and have your TOE angles checked out and dialed in...

it all depends on whether or not youre referring to the sportlines or the prokit --- the prokit shouldnt be that bad, but if youre on sportlines, then i would definitely bet your camber is quite bad...

yeah I had Eibach Sportlines and my camber specs were stated above.. even w/ those camber specs.. w/ the TOE in spec my tire wear was pretty even on my Dunlop SP Sport 9000's..

he (ilovegirls) says its a conservative drop so he probably has the Pro-kit

to add to this post, i'm running steelies for now and its more for the fact that bigger tires take in more shock, putting less stress on the shocks.. I'm slammed back down now and enjoying the negative camber, only thing is, i'm running the tires more on the flatter side so the tire distributes the wear a little more evenly then having it inflated to the usual.. I'm getting wear on the inside, and since its non-directional tires, would it be safe to flip the tires at a shop and be able to drive it (as in flipping the tires on the rim so the inner wear is now on the outside, and a whole new set of meat is on the inside)? Just need some advice, peace..
