Ticking noise, poor gas milage, and feels sluggish
I have a 99 integra it has an exhaust intake and headers, ive noticed i been getting really bad gas mileage also a ticking noise and the car feels really sluggish. I changed the spark plugs, wires,distributor, o2 sensor, i changed the oil, oil filter and sea foamed the car and there was a difference a pretty big difference but it still doesnt feel as good as the other integras ive driven and mine has more mods. i have to keep pressing on the gas to move. the car starts to slow down as im going up hill even if i down shift. my idle kind of fluctuates and drops like it wants to stall but comes back up but not a lot most of the time its idling at around 700 800 on a cold start at 1500, when i try to drive when the car is cold i have to keep gassing it in first gear or ill stall out. and if im going over 50 or so and just throw it in neutral the car shuts off this hasnt started happening until today. the ticking noise is coming from the motor it sounds the same all the time it doesnt get any louder it just ticks no matter what rpm im at.
let me know what you guys think

ticking could be valve train. try adjusting the valve lash. poor gas mileage could be a number of things, o2 sensors, etc. alot of times poor gas mileage is something the computer is doing because its is sensing something out of wack. the idle is probably a dirty IACV so i suggest cleaning that

as the first guy responded. i'd check your valve train. if not adjusted right, you will loose compression which will result in loss in power and gas mileage. you could do a compression check or a leak down would be better to see if the valves are staying open. if you check your valve clearance and all is good and your still getting bad compression numbers then your piston rings are toast which results in same thing, power loss, poor gas mileage and even misfires.

also try to change your o2 censer its about 60 bucks at advance auto. that may help salve the problems on running bad with its cold. mine was like that too i changed fuel pump and fuel filter and did the same so i changed the o2 and it ran fine after that.

like many have already said check your valve lash ..... ticking sound plus car being weak plus poor gas mileage can very well mean valve lash is not set correctly

ticking= valve
bad gas mileage= dirty injectors, tune up? Distributor/cap and rotor?
How many miles do you have on the car?

it has 115XXX i gave it a tune up i ran two bottles of sea foam, an oil change, oil filter, new spark plugs, wires, pcv valve, o2 sensor, also did a fuel injector cleaner, gas is somewhat better but still sluggish

It's sluggish... yet not a single mention of checking the timing. are you guys serious? my girlfriends Civic was doing the same thing. I checked the timing and it apparently jumped +1 (advanced) tooth. I fixed it and it runs like it should. Granted its a Y7, but all engines operate the same.
For the head noise, its more than likely a lifter tapping. BUT I wouldnt do a valve adjustment until you check your timing. cuz, its pointless to do so, they'll more than likely be outta spec.
I suggest first and foremost, check your mechanical timing. If you do not know how, buy a chiltons or some other service manual and get to work. I dont know timing belt, water pump and tensioner service intervals, but if its off a lot I would go ahead and replace those items. If it slipped its more than likely due to a worn belt, improperly tensioned belt or a bad tensioner springs.
im still baffled that no one suggested to check your timing.
if your timing seems fine, then I'd check fuel pressure at the rail.
