Sparco 3 Point Harness : Question about install
I have the Sparco 3 Point harness and its currently installed, but i was wondering if i could mount the harness a little different. right now its mounted to side of my seats and the rear to rear selt bolt.. and that makes it hard for people to sit in the back seat of my integra LS 2 Door. Can i mount the rear strap into the bracket of my seat?? is that safe?
<--- mounted to the side where bracket connects to car.
<--- These rear straps (mounted to underneath backet seat seatbelt bolts) can i put them elsewhere like to the bracket of my seat where it connects to the car??

Re: Sparco 3 Point Harness : Question about install (JesDM)
i think i heard something about the angle being too steep and could brake your shoulder blades in an accident if its mounted too low

take those harness's out imediatly, the way you have them mounted in the rear is extremely dangerous....If you get in an accident the belt will pull down and compress your spinal column...
look into harness bars and cages if you insist on harnesses...but i still would not recomend them for street purposes

why you have 6x9's back there
anyways....do you have that 3rd point going back to the seat belt CLIP bolt? i would stay with that. forget the people in the back seat having a bad time. better safe than sorry bro.

wow spinal column.. i just want some seatbelts that i can wear w/o wearing out my seat ie stock seatbelt wears out the left or right shoulder area because of friction / moving around.

ahah 6x9's of course, cant get enough of it. but the 3rd point going back to seat belt clip bolt. the bolt where underneath the seat, the clip for seatbelt goes ( the black thing /w the red button where ur stock seat belt connects to ) so is it safe like the way i have it or no?

the way you have them mounted now is absolutely worthless.
The closest you can get to a decent mount, without buying a harness bar, is bringing that third point all the way back to the c-pillar and mounting them where the back seat passenger's belt mounts. This angle is within 5 degrees plus or minus of zero so it's safe. Unfortunately it's attached to the car, which could crumple or something and compromize your setup. The safest way to have harnesses is to get a roll cage. Next step down is to get a harness bar. Way below that is to do what i've suggested. Any of these ways mean you're not having passengers in the back seat. You gotta pick what's important to you
weighing down your car with fat chicks so you can show off
or being safe, and saving weight by removing the passenger seats.

The way you have your belts mounted is extremely unsafe. If you went to a race track the techs wouldn't even let you pass.
The factory seat belt holes need to remain for factory seat belt holes. You are supposed to use an eye bolt for each point. Not only this, but your supposed to use no less than 4"x4"x1/8"steel plates to reinforce the mounting points. One plate goes inside the car and one plate goes on the outside of the car to make a sandwitch out of the plates and the unibody.
Harnesses SHOULD NOT BE WORN IF YOU DO NOT HAVE A ROLL CAGE/BAR. Who cares about the harness bar? This will only give you the proper angle of attack for mounting the rear points. This is useless in a roll over. You will still die. You will not be able to lay down/ dodge the roof and I know of no factory seat that can support the weight of a vehicle on top of it. Not only this, but the harness restricts your movement when needing to check your blind spots. On a race track, the movement of the other drivers is predictable. However, when daily driving you need the ability to move around in your seat giving you the ability to look and make a safe lane change.
Stop being an *** about it. Your stock seat belts can be replaced if your so worried about them wearing out Appearently the price to replace your factory belts is worth more than your life...or worser yet, a passengers life Put away being a baller for a second and remove those harnesses from your car until you get a roll cage put in it. Don't say I didn't warn you if your going to be thick headed about it.

fyi i was talkin about the seat wearing down, not the seatbelt when referring to stock seatbelt use. im not a "baller" i just have these se to ats nd seatbelts baught as a combo for cheap and wanted to know if there was a way to install it safely but better.. i guess not.. i baught these seats + seatbelt from a friend who got his Hatchback into an accident, his whol front end got smashed into a tree, and his steering wheel very bent. but these seatbelt did not crumble his spine and he safely walked away /w cuts and bruses

Re: (JesDM)
That is hella dangerous...it puts all the pressure on your shoulders or even your collar bone not your chest like it should.
I beleive that the belts shouldnt be any lower than a 20 degree angle which isnt much so get a harness bar or a roll bar stat...
