Default Smog Help.

My friend bought a DA9. We're have smog troubles.

HC (PPM) MEAS is 184 and 207
CO % MEAS is 1.00 and 1.76
NO (PPM) MEAS is 2184 and 1783.

Also its says, ingnition timing 24 BTDC FAILED and Failed other emission





ill post the smog pictures up soon. i cant upload it on this ipad.

but, it anyone can help him out whats wrong lmk.

"Whats wrong" is plainly obvious: at 24 degrees instead of 16, your ignition timing is WAY too far advanced.

Reset the timing to the correct figure, and emissions will probably drop down to a passable level.

ok this sounds VERY bad but it works for my friends up north were thay have to pas SMOG.

Fix Timing

drive car to fuel is on E put in 1 gallon of 91+ octane then add 2 of the large bottles of 97% Isopropyl Alcohol (about 1 letter per bottle) about 1~2 blocks from the inspection shop. Pass SMOG. go to the next gas station fill up the car.

this will also remove water from the gas take if any.
and if you get the alcohol at wal-mart should cost about $6

also i havn't seen it done but i have heard you can get it to pass if you run E85.

again only a Gallon or two on a empty tank.

I Second this fix timing and run it hard for about 30 mins before smog get cat real hot my boy owns a smog shop says it works every time
