Hey! I bought a carbon fibre type r interior and steering wheel today. I have a jap import DC2 SiR-G with SRS airbag's. I need to remove the steering wheel and SRS unit to put on the Type R wheel, anyone know how to remove the standard wheel? thanks!

It's*BOLO!!

1.)you disconnect your battery, so you don't join the "I got hit by airbag club"

Then, on the left side theres a plastic cover, you remove it and there some screws under there(T30 size) I believe, take them out.

Then onto the right side, theres a few more screws holding the cruise control unit in place, take those screws out as well.

Next, the airbag should now slide off, exposing the 19mm nut holding the wheel on, it should come off fairly easy, and then your stock wheel will slide off, once you disconnect a few plugs for the cruise, etc.

Have fun, it should only take 15 minutes for the whole install

Basically that easy.

The biggest problem I had was removing the cover on the right side, it was a pain.

The bolts are T27 I believe. I used my impact to break the 19mm bolt.

Dont have cruise control, I took the two plastic bits off the steering wheel, was 2 hex-head bolds there but i didnt want to mess with that untill i was talkin to someone who done it before. Do i have to remove them? how do i then get the centre part of the wheel off so i can undo the big nut that holds the wheel on? Sorry,imjust used to my DC1, pull the steering wheel front off, use the wheelbrace to undo the nut, and the wheel is off!

hum, i have done this many times, including on my buddies civic the other day, and his was a T30, perhaps integras are different, i really can't remember since I did mine so long back

ALL the carbon fibre bits are in, it looks really well! Cant really notice it in the day tho! The leather gear garter with red stitching looks really well! I have a silver carbon fibre type r gearknob, really looks well with the itr cf bits!

yes you take them off, read my writeup, its all there, very simple, once you get those "hex head" bolts out

You might be right about the T30. I know my T25 was just a bit too small, I jsut ran out and got at entire set. I swear it was T27, but I could be wrong also.
