Default ODBII Scanner won't scan ABS Codes???

so I got a ~$50 ODBII Scanner off ebay to scan a ABS code...

I have a solid ABS light on at all times, but no MIL light at all. I plug the scanner in and it says "No MIL Detected" - Is there some type of special scanner I need to scan for ABS Codes? (And no, for some reason jumping the service plug dosen't make anything blink...)

Any thoughts? ideas?

Jumper the diagnostic connector above the passenger kick panel, turn the key to run, and read the codes that the ABS light flashes.

do what dogg suggested. scanners come in 3 varieties, code readers, basic scanners, full service. full service scanners that do everything START around $400-500 and go up from there. the snap on modus is one that's seriously full service. entry level scanners like the actron cp9145 will do obd1 and obd2 code reading and also provide live data feed of what the ecu is seeing. this is helpful when looking for a lazy o2 or st/lt fuel trims.

if the abs light does not flash when you jump the service connector, you probably do not have a fault code, but a blown fuse, pull out each fuse to check one at a time . check nevery single fuse under the dash and under the hood.. I had this problem on 96 accord. turned out to be the ECU/cruise and power mirror fuses.
