yes lack of brake fluid!
Make sure its not all seeping out under your car...
you could have a break in the lines, try pumping the brakes a bit with the car on... if the tighten up you have air bubbles in the lines. Follow a manual if you don't know how to "Bleed" your brakes , it will involved new brake fluid etc. so you will have to hit up your local autozone / checker / whatever and get some brake fluid and a nice bleeder hose, something that will fit over the nipple on the brake Caliper... its not hard, just takes some time.

Make sure pressure comes back though... while its running. top off that brake fluid in the brake master cylinder under the hood if it looks low ... air bubbles will make it go away and come back with pressure... which is why they say if you lose your brakes while moving, pump them.. to push the air back and the fluid forward. anyway. if its leakign right on to the ground anywhere you have a bigger problem and should get a mechanic or something, it will probably be big dollar to have them redo lines. if its just a seal in the master cylinder you can replace the master cylinder Yourself for probably 100 bucks? and a good couple of hours all said and done.
Break out that manual!

and good luck.

where are you finding master cylinder's for 100 bucks? the best ive seen cuz i need to replace mine is like 165 to 180 , but then it has the core chrage so you do get most of your money back . but still 100 seems kinda low. or am i just looking in the wrong spots

You guys are nuts, I don't know where you get your parts, but I got one for $60 before the core charge. After that, it came to about 40 something. Its fairly easy, did mine in I'd say a little over an hour.
