hey guys.. im kinda new to integras.. um i bought a 96 LS (b18b1) uhh well when i start my car early in the morning.. and drive off with it cold.. or semi-cold.. it makes this weird rattling/vibrating kinda noise.. kinda like metal on metal type of thing.. but then when the engine heats up, and my temp guage is near the middle of the C and H.. then it goes away. i asked my teacher at the car school im going to.. he said its probably and oil lubrication issue.. he said im probably not getting proper lubrication when the engine and oil is cold. could this because of the type of oil that's in the engine? i just bought the car like a week ago.. so i dont know what he put in it.. manufacturer's suggestion is 5W 30.

also could it be the oil filter? my teacher said something about a bypass valve or something in the oil filter.. he said it could be be broken or clogged up with gunk.. that is why my engine isn't getting proper lubrication when cold. i dont know.. but any help would be nice.. thanks again guys..

At the top of the forum is a thread called FAQ. Click on it and go to how to adjust you valves. Print it and give it to ur auto teacher.

Probably needs valve adjustment.
Switch to 10w30
Most oil filters have the anitdrain back in the filter
Could be exhaust heat shield rattleing.

If it was gsr, the injectors are also notoriously loud..but you dont so?

I have done all of these and my gsr still makes the noise. Im going to probably change the lma's soon and see if that is the reason.
