Default need help on integra mount?

i just bought a integra and was wondering why there was always a thump when i let go of the clutch, thought it was my axles but it wasn't, found out that the driver side mount frame bracket, where the long 17mm bolt goes through to hold the mount, was stripped, i tried to tighten and loosen it but it'll just stay at the same spot, any ideas how to get this fix, i'm still trying to figure out how to take the mount out.

you have to drill out the spot welds and I would suggest finding another one to weld in. you can also try to helicoil the bolt hole, but it may not work considering the thread size is so large

sounds like the bolt is stripped. try to loosen and get it out use a prybar to put upward tension or if you loosen left front torque mount it might put enough tension on mount to bolt and allow it to loosen out and then you can replace bolt. btw i doubt that is where the thump is coming from. GL

Is it the post mount? or the lower torque mount?

If you notice any of your front mounts are done for, your rear mount might be even worse off.

it's not the lower torque mount, it's the upper one and that is where the thump is coming from because when i let go of the clutch, the engine moves, i mean i can just push the engine by hand and you can see it move back and fourth easily, the bolt that's on there is so loose, i'll try to use your guys ideas to see how it turns out.

arent their two studs with nuts in vertical position engine side and 1 bolt going horizontal between solid rubber bushing. And you think the bolt going into rubber bushing is causing problem correct? btw which way is engine rocking 1. between wheels 2. front to back. are you moving it by hand or watching it with engine running. normally the engine rocks with the exhaust side coming up and intake going down when dumping clutch or reving up engine pop hood and watch.

it is moving front to back, and yes it's the horizontal bolt that goes through the bushing. i moved it by hand, and i had someone let go of the clutch while i was outside looking as well. the bolt got strip, so it wouldn't even secure the mount on tight, i guess i'm just gonna cut the bolt up with a saw, and then take the mount out so i will have more room to take out the other end of the bolt.

If you're able to move your motor that much, your rear mount must be toast too. I'd figure out the stripped bolt issue and replace all your mounts.

You can cut the nut part of the mount with a small grinder. Its hard but seen it done. Then just run a regular nut on it. Mount must be toast to if it moves that much

This is what we were trying to lead up at first. their should be two lower mounts that attach near inner front wheel and their is also a rear mount between engine and firewall they are the mounts that control the "torque movement you are seeing. As long as you are sure the bolt you want to cut out wont come out then leave it in until you have to pull motor or something. that mount just supports the weight of engine an tranny. it is like a huge rubber bushing mount. Energy suspension has a 40 dollar kit to make the lower and rear "solid". or just find some that arent torn up.
I am going to guess that once the other 3 mounts became shot a person thought they could tighten the mount you are looking at. Trust me it is by far the easiest to see. they then overtightened and stripped. as long as you can see threads of bolt coming out nut dont worry about and read up on fixing the rear and then if you really want no movement the lower front mounts. thanks for your response fcluddington, but wouldn't my shifter move along too if it was the rear mount?

it didnt on me. but i will tell you how i went from torn up engine mounts to all solid and believe me your car will vibrate like a bitch once you keep the engine from moving. I have a boosted b18c with itr tranny with lsd in it. When shifting from 2nd to 3rd at around 8900 rpm i couldnt get into 3rd. once i went solid mounts no more problems. shifted fine. so i dont know how hard you are pushing it but i would at least try and fix the rear mount either by energy suspension bushings or non torn up mount. let us know when you get to that rear mount. it's alot of fun.GL

i know what you mean by solid mounts, i use to have a eg with a gsr swap with avid racing mounts and the dashboard vibrate, but it was worth it because the engine wasn't moving anymore, i just fix the driver side mount and the car doesnt' do it anymore, so i guess it was just the driver side mount bolt that was causing it.

and the thump does come from that, I did a swap with my buddy, and the idiot forced and stripped a bolt with a different thread so no Im screwed... already had the screw come out semi-completely out.... very dangerous, could cause the engine to fall through the bay..

If anyone has any ideas or knows if we can buy that bracket separately let me know
