Ls first time turbo start up
Last night was the first time i started up my turbo install and i have a few questions.
First off my wastegate (tial style) is open dump. There was a bunch of smoke coming out of it, at idle. After a bit of research, i found there's supposed to be some type of valve seat in there to prevent this type of problem. I installed the fire ring and the smoke calmed but still apparent. Pulling the spark plugs, each one of them were black, and one was a bit wet, and smelt like fuel.
I am running a phearable.net ecu, bluetop dsm injectors w/ resistor box, and walbro 255 fuel pump. no visible leaks that i can see. thanks for the help

Re: Ls first time turbo start up
Was it tuned? Did you have them rescale the injectors? If you have done neither of these then you are dumping fuel in to your engine. Do not start or drive it with bigger injectors or at all with out a tune. I don't know much about pherable.net, but it sounds like its only a tunable basemap.

It is only a tuned basemap. They do good work but if your waste gate is staying open (couldnt tell if you got that resolved) that will throw it off. Do you have a wideband? Cause you need one. That basemap isnt meant to run the car perfect it is to get it to a dyno and get a real tune off a wideband. Do you have a FPS? Cause you need one. If you do, what PSI are you running?
