Hypothetical question, what would you rather have?
I just came across a mint 01 ITR with absurdly low miles on it. Guy wants an absurd price for it but that's beside the point. Given a choice, what would you rather have, a :
1) super mint, bone stock but perfect ITR with super low miles that you could drive the wheels off of but could never modify
or
2) decent driving 96 LS with 120k (say the car is in reasonable driving condition but the suspension is tired, paint is showing it's age, interior is worn but well maintained, engine and tranny are still strong) and $10,000 to do whatever you want to it.
and why?
And we're talking about hypothetical cars that you would drive everyday. Vacuum sealing the ITR and storing it for 40 years isn't the point. Which car would you enjoy more?

Re: Hypothetical question, what would you rather have?
I've had an R, and for daily driving, the theft worries and the lack of amenities wasn't worth it. If it were going to be a weekend/track car and you've got a garage, I'd say the R. But if not, I'd keep that $10k in the bank and drive the wheels off of the LS.
I was going to buy another R after I sold my S2000, but didn't want to go through the sleepless paranoia nights, never being able to drive to the movies/restaurants/mall, etc again, so bought a GSR. Still there are theft worries, but not like the R. I feel the GSR is a great choice for a dd/track car. You could sell your LS, then pick up a clean GSR for ~$6k then mod it and drive the wheels off of it.

1 for ITR, just because they arent too many around, at least not here in Winnipeg, and still has tons of power. thats what i think anyways.

get the ls, with that amount of money left to modify it you could 5 lug, build suspension, swap the motor, work with interior and exterior and still have money left to **** with

Its his daily driver, it doesnt matter if the car is mint, because after all the dings and scratches and miles and ware on the car from daily driving it doesnt make much difference

Buy the ITR. Walk everywhere and fall asleep next to it everyday in your garage. Or better yet put it in your living room. That is what i would most likely do.

I would always go for the ls and the money...why would you blow your cash on an itr to beat on it as a commuter first of all, and second why not grab that ls and clean it up and build it up and still have hella money left over wit a pretty sic car on your hands? Personally I just look at it like this, you blow your cash and what if the motor blows or somethin in an itr that you don't have to money to maintain?
