Humming noise
When i am on the highway cruising, i get this humming noise that kinda sounds like road noise from the tire, but when i turn the wheel slightly to the right the noise goes away..Any ideas what this could be?

i can almost guarantee it. mind did the same thing. would hum like crazy but when turning left on a curve or just jerking the wheel real quick it went away. it was my lr wheel bearing

What you don't think the front has wheel bearing or something. But yes, it is most likely a wheel bearing.

it is quiet at lower speeds.the noise is loud on the highway, but when i turn the wheel to the right, it goes away. I changed the right front bearing and that did not solve it, so i am going to change the left front. It

change the rear on first. when my lr went bad it did that same thing urs did. and when i turned left the noise went away. i had a hard time figuring out which one it was. i replace the front one first, and it didnt solve the problem. so i moved on to the rear on. i did a self check real quick just by turning the hub by hand. it did have some rough spots compared to the other ones.
IMO the rear one is much easier to change than the front. good luck with it, let us know what it was.
ps. i highly doubt its the left front, if it goes away when turning right. thats when you put the most load on that bearing. it has to be one of the bearing on the right side if the noise goes away when turning right. thats when alot of the weight transfers off the right side

How many miles on the car? It could easily just be an improperly wearing tire- does the tire have good wear pattern?
you can also try rotating the tire to the back, and the back to the front and see if it goies away. Worth the trouble, it is free.

Re: (Rtzx9r)
I'm having the same problem with my 91 Hatch. Around 50mph and up there is a very loud hum from the rear. If I swerve the to right I goes away, but if I go to the left, it gets even louder. I rotated my tires and it did not change the pitch or intensity of the sound at all.

Re: (Modern91Hatch)
dont rule out the possibility of it being the Power Steering pump, mine did that, weird noise, changed when wheel was turned because of different pressure amounts on the hose... pump eventually went bad and sprayed PS fluid everywhere, to test just remove the belt... thsi would also explain the difference in the speeds because the pully is connected to teh drive pully on the crankshaft

Just turn the wheel left and right when your not moving and the powering steering pump should start squelling like crzy. Atleast thats my experience, most of the time it is just low fluid.
