sorry for bringing up such an old post but im curious if a 1996 honda accord pump is similar to this? also what are the torque specs?

I also could not budge the bearing ... ended up like you just replacing the O-rings and calling it a day. The bad part about this is that the inner seal is the one that may most need to be replaced.

Had I seen IN-VTEC's final post before starting this job I would have opted for the rebuilt pump instead (which I may still do).

If anyone else was able to press the bearing out and has pics, please post!

I don't remember how I did it. I just kinda figure things out as I go.

That's not a thrust bearing though, is it? Because pressing a bearing out via the inner collar with as much force as it seemed to need, I would think would ruin the bearing.

How did you remove the pulley? I haven't been able to budge the nut so far.

I can't remember for sure but it may be a reverse thread ... so try turning it in the other direction.

I used a screwdriver through one of the pulley holes resting against something on the pump body, to hold the pulley still while I loosened the bolt. I only needed a medium socket wrench to do this ... not especially tight.

Just looked at Helms, and it does say the PS pulley nut is left-hand thread. So righty-loosey in this case.

*edit* the OP also says it's a left-hand thread lol

So you have to remove the bearing to get to the seal. Shouldn't you replace the bearing also?
