im picking up a b16 head next week and i going to build it up before i slap it on my block. how much do shops charge for a mild job?

I'm paying less than $600 for the afore mentioned. I'm going to a local shop with a good reputaion. I feel you get a better job when you use a lil' po-dunk shop that knows what you want, rather than a giant that is popping em' out like candy with no actual face to face with the customer.

I had my head ported and polished at PortFlow last month and let me assure you they are not a lil' po-dunk shop. They do ask what you've done and where you're going with your engine and they do amazing work. They even ported and polished my Skunk2 Intake mani for no additional charge plus the reassembled my head with all the skunk2 components I purchased...again for no additional charge. Tom Fugita is the tech that does the p&p. He has been doing it for many years. One of his clients is even Lisa Kubo and you know she's all about getting it done right. PortFlow and Tom know their ****.
