GSR crank pulley bolt
So I'm here to ask if there is a trick too getting this off, I have been trying different things all week. Yesterday I went out and bought a 1000ftlb impact and the *#%^ing thing still won't budge any input?

that crank holder tool is the best thing around it's helped me countless times its like $20 and well worth it. just uses a 1/2 dr bar to hold it.

Since he's trying to put 1000ft/lbs to the wrench, I assume he has the crank holder.
You're going to have to use bursts of your strength to get it to break. Think impact, not pressure. I've used it like a leg press before. If you've never taken it off before it can be a pain.

pls remember not all impacts are the same! this can not be stressed enough, a low cost one will not really do "1000 breakaway" the same a 1/2 IR(Ingersoll rand) will. "Drive" plays a big part too 1/2 and the jump up to 3/4 either way I had luck with a big 3ft 3/4 drive just stand on it if need be. For $20 it's a must have tool it works on k-serires too and d series etc, it has a list on the back. there's lots of factors that we are ot knowing about the gun op used and if he had the proper compressor to power a gun that has that high a rating....cheap gun or not.

Re: GSR crank pulley bolt
get some socket extensions to clear the fender and support with a 2x4 or something.
then i grab my 4 foot steel pipe breaker bar and sit my *** on it. bent it pretty good on an axle nut lol. pb blast and let it soak in. instead of the crank tool i put it in 5th, get passenger side tire on the ground and insert large screwdriver in brake rotor slot next to caliper. works every time.

Re: GSR crank pulley bolt
I've never met a crankshaft pulley bolt that my 3/4" IR impact won't take off. If it was me, I'd take it somewhere and have them zip it off and tighten it to spec back on and then when you get home it shouldn't be an issue to get it off

So did op ever get it off lol
It took one try with my air gun to pop it off with out the crank pulley tool, some are harder then others depending how old the engine is.

I got mine off with just a breaker bar. I left the passenger side wheel on the ground and put a piece of re-bar in between the wheel studs (with the lug nuts on to protect the threads) such that trying to turn the crank pulley would push the re-bar against the ground and keep the engine from turning. Crank pulley bolt came right off.

What is the PSI set at on your air compressor? You might need to supply more air, especially with an impact gun of higher torque rating.

Re: GSR crank pulley bolt
After a couple days of soaking in pb blaster I finally got it off. I was using the pulley holder and a 1000ftlb Mac impac thanks for the suggestions!
